The Patriots Are The Best Team Ever

TAI is live courtesy of donbest.com and in addition to all of the pro and college lines hot off the presses, tune in to hear the agony/joy of Tommy Dutch as he sweats out the Broncos game and the World Series match up announced live on the air.

Other topics include to tape or not to tape, the Notre Dame punter getting some love, the curse of the college football #2, professional handicapper Mike Davis gives another free pick, and week #1 of the TAI survivor contest.  I don’t need someone getting sick from the kippers.

OK BMo. Lets start the shorter posts with: Congratulations on your first day of work at the LVCC. It sounds like a good fit despite the fact you have to work a whole day.

It’s good to hear from Johnny Tulip. Johnny how was the ass kicking you took in fantasy baseball this year? By the way the Soaring Eagle Casino is top notch compared to the rest of the Indian gaming community. For god’s sake Journey and Def Leppard have performed there. Pierced, you won fucking money there and were feed free drinks, stop bitchin.

Can we take a poll on which Vegas casino gives the weakest drinks while you’re at the table. I vote for Planet Hollywood. Those drinks tasted like bigfoot stuffed his nuts in them.

Fobes – I saw the High Stakes Golf match. I agree, very entertaining. Phil Hellmuth has the wackiest golf swing ever. Period.

I will agree to a wiffle ball test before the game starts and the majority will rule. I’ve never had an issue hitting the long ball with an untaped ball, but then again, I used to juice as a toddler.

As far as the slow pitch goes, underhand is prohibited. We’re just looking for an offensive game, so as long as there’s some arc to the pitch, I’m ok with some English.

This is bigger than you now Joe. I just found out that Dutch and I differ on a key life issue, to tape or not to tape. I feel like the past year has been a lie.

If the game is going to be on thanksgiving, I might have to talk MoFobes into letting me crash at his place as most of the rest of Vegas will be booked and hosting a thanksgiving day dinner, so that I don’t miss all the holiday actvities, and we will all have time after the game to hang out and eat and chat and I will even do most of the cooking if needed. I don’t have family in the So Cal area so I won’t have to abondon too much to be there for my fav TAI boys. but I will abondon the events I have planed for you all. Tommy D I am on my way to get a green tank right now, Go Green.
Oddly I spent last thanksgiving in Vegas as well, cooking for two boys that B.Mo and Tommy D both know, so they can tell you I know what I am doing. And you can ask Mr. Mace about my angry gumbo if you need more refrances.

“You might as well play in someones backyard if you don’t tape the ball”

When BMO’s up to bat,you could play it in the Binion’s bathroom and the ball would never leave the field…

Lady Grey, you could ride the pine with me if you’d like…

If the game is around Thanksgiving, how can BMO bat with a turkey leg in his hand?

Fobes, congrats on winning the pool this past weekend…I’m off
    Wed,Thurs,and Fri.,want to do something?

    October 23, 2007 | 5:08 am

JimmyMac – Umm, what does “ride the pine” mean, I have a guess but I am sure that it is wrong. But pine is a type of wood so…someone help me here.

Yo Time – you met these guys back in March should i be worried about this Wiffle Game, after all it looks like its ending up like a mini wiffle Ball World Series!

I was going to have a shot about World Series but i’ll leave it at that ; )

the 1st Wiffle Ball game would constitute the “Wiffle Ball World Series” i think. Our game can be “Wiffle Ball Pacific Series” maybe. I haven’t had the oppurtunity to see any in sports play but have heard mofobes is supposed to be a brilliant ping pong player by all accounts so we could be in trouble.

Lady Gray – coming from jimmymac i’m guessing you’re not wrong but it’s not a saying that i’ve heard over here.

  16. Lady Gray
    October 23, 2007 | 5:21 am

YoTime, I feel a little better knowing that I am not alone in my understanding (misunderstanding, if that is the case) of Jimmymac’s use of the word pine.

  17. mofobes
    October 23, 2007 | 7:07 am

riding the pine – also slang for sitting on the bench – get your mind out the gutter folks.

lady gre(a)y, we’ve got 3 extra bedrooms and a huge kitchen, so you are more than welcome to crash here. sherpas and pack mules are available at the bottom of the hill.

ok, so my ping pong game might be lacking, but i’ve gone 9 for 10 with over 5000 feet of distance in the home run derby on the Wii, so bring it bitches.

    hey jimmy,

thanks, i have no idea how i won this week. i can’t believe how tightly packed the pool is, just a few games separate most of us.

i don’t have any plans this week, so i am up for most anything. i’d say a round of golf, but i think my play would be very embarrassing for the both of us.

  19. YoTime Joe
    October 23, 2007 | 8:06 am

mofobes – i’m only going on your team mates comments as i have no personal reference to your sporting prowess. i believe JR may give you a run on th Wii which he bought for his GF? now the bitches comment goes a little too far don’t you think?

    Fobes,

I saw Blackpool (they only added the Viva when it was exported). It was kinda fun, I was surprised to see anyone trying it as a US show though. For a start it’s a black comedy, add in the muscial elements and it’s very quickly a difficult show to sell.

Personally though I think the mistake was trying to set it in Laughlin. They should’ve set it somewhere like Coney Island. I went to Laughlin once, I’m not a fan.

If you like that sort of show though have a look for any of the Dennis Potter stuff. Shows like The Singing Detective, Pennies from Heaven and my personl favourite of his – Lipstick on Your Collar.

How big are the wiffel ball teams? If you’re only playing 3 or 4 people per team, I can’t see any reason to tape the ball. You’ll have the pitcher and a man for each base doubling as outfield since the ball isn’t going to travel too far. Why tape the ball and make the fielding players have the scramble all over the place? Think about it, the only reason to tape the ball to make it fly further is if you’re playing full 9 men teams on the field. I guess a field test couldn’t hurt, and this will probably get ignored anyways, so have it it boys.

    Mofobes-
If Grandma Fobes needs a place to stay to get away from the fires, my place is open to her, I might have to force her to make me some ketchup but the rest of the time will be work free I promise. Just make sure she is out of harms way, there are 16 fires here in the So Cal area as of now, but my place seems to be in the clear.

This offer is good for any of our other So Cal friends that are too closse for comfort.

  26. Lady Grey
    October 23, 2007 | 3:57 pm

Call her this am and ask just to be sure she is safe, they were saying something about a RIverside area fire this am on the news as I was driving in to work but I missed most of the details as my little one was talking to me at the same time. We don’t want anything happening to Grandma Fobes, and I know she is tough, but still.

Cebu, that is a good article. Hopkins is one of my all time favorites so that moment was one of my favorite in boxing.

It’s a good list, most lists of top KOs have that lingering doubt that the guy may have sustained lasting damage but the body shots can be just as dramatic and leave you feeling much less guilty.
