It’s The Happy, Fun, Feel Good Show!

After a rocky few days of “football” fueled debate on the message boards, Brian and Tommy decide to bring some joy into the world with tales of overt racism, a bride and groom dining in squalor, overrated athletes, drunken astronauts and the end of the world as we know it.

On the plus side we learn about Shaq’s love for orange chicken, Brian’s struggle for manhood, and Bridget’s eye for food and clothing, er, fashion.  She was eating a hot dog!

Just so you guys know any job in Australia has a minimum of 4 weeks paid vacation per year. Some progressive companies offer 5 weeks as a way of retaining and attracting quality staff.

A note on racist and homophobic slurs: My elementary school backed up to the original Gilley’s nightclub, and across the street from Gilley’s was the KKK headquarters. Those type of words are unfortunately commonplace in this part of the country.

Regardless of the outcome Corona is MY offical beer.
I’m a mega lightweight drinker while at home, get me to Vegas and everyday finishes up with me pissed up throwing my money away becasue I cant see or think straight.

    ‘Aerodynamic’ Dutch – that’s an image I could’ve done without ;-)

For those of you in London (all 3 or so of us) – if you’ve never tried a Fat Tire, you’ll be able to sample that and a few others from the US (Sierra Nevada usually bring a few decent ales) at the Great British Beer Festival 7th to 11th August at Earls Court.

Rumour has it there may even be some beer from the Isle of Man.

  18. AceRockollaUK
    August 1, 2007 | 5:46 pm

Have the guys from the Isle of Man – let you in on a few facts about thier homeland?
How about home of the TT races – seriously dangerous and exciting motorbiking races that attracts the best riders from around the world and often kills them.
Also and this is a real winner – No speed limits over large swathes of the Island – Yep you can go as fast as you dare.
So the USA with thousands of miles of razor straight roads lots of tough speed limits – The Isle of Man lots of dangerous twisty roads – Go as fast as you want! Quality

Good to know there is any beer left on the Isle of Man. Thought they were waiting for Richie and Whit to leave so they could catch up on production.

Tommy D – hearing you say that a lot of what you say is about causing debate or creating arguments is a wonderful thing. That’s how I roll – I will happily argue for hours about things I don’t believe in.
I however was a bit concerned that you felt some of the name calling was like being attacked, I only read the whole load of threads as fun piss taking.
    What say you regular guy?

  21. Regularguy
    August 1, 2007 | 8:08 pm

Jim – interesting odds. I’m fully expecting a 1-0 or 2-1 loss. What about that LA-Dallas match. 11 goals?

Ace – I wasn’t attacking Tommy until he lectured me about listening when I knew exactly what I heard. Even then, I wasn’t attacking, but merely poking with a stick. I grew up with four older brothers – I still feel I owe the universe some payback. :) I haven’t listened, but I believe people who talk out of their ass should follow BMo’s policy and just not try and defend it when they can’t even remember what they said 30 seconds after it comes out of their mouth. It’s worked well for me for almost 40 years now!

I’m a little disappointed in the beer selections in the poll. I have never been a big Rolling Rock fan, which is weird since I went to college in western PA in the late 80s. It was hard to avoid. Corona on a hot day is good, but I have about three or four choices for that situation I like better. I have never been a Heineken fan. And I would never drink anything brewed in Shelbyville, which leaves Fat Tire, which I have never had, but I voted for it any way.

Does Yuengling get out west? Such an outstanding beer.

Offer: When the boys from the Isle of Man arrive in Vegas I’m willing to take them to @ least one strip club. I’d love to meet you. So if you can fit it into your schedule and you don’t mind hanging out with a stripper then you let me know and we will make arrangements to get together. Have a beer or more so a shot, take in a tip rail and laugh about life. Hope I’m not being to forward but I figured you might need a good host for a day and if I can be of assistance you just let me know! We might be able to cause some serious kind hearted trouble!!!!!!!

Over the weekend i was at a strip club in S.F. and lets say its probably one of the dirty, ghetto, and nasty strip club in S.f. but its like a second home. So im there wit as a few friends (so that makes about 5 people in the club) on a saturday night and CHRIS WEBBER walks in with about 20 people. I first notice that his eyes are barely opened and he can barely walked so i figured he was high and hella drunk. Next his wife or gf sits in front of me while he goes down stairs with a friend, the owner, and about 5 strippers to the private rooms. After an hour his lady is bugging out because she has no idea where he is and her friend tells her that hes down stairs and she starts going crazy. At that point me and my friends decide to leave and while were leaving we see him exit a door with a smile on his face and all i want to know is how much he paid and did he retire yet?

    P.S.
And all i could think about was how to get Chris Webber to knock me out so i can get paid like he did from phili…..EASY MONEY

OH Hell Yes. Fyregirl, now that i’ve finished “tripping over my boner” and have regained consciousness. The Isle of Man graciously excepts your offer. Perhaps we could meet on the day/night out with Dutch and Bmo?

CWebb was listed as making $19M last year with the Sixers. They bought him out for $25M in the middle of the season (the contract was supposed to be up in 2008). He finished the season with Detroit – no idea how much be made. He may retire, may go back to Detroit or may end up in Dallas.

    That’s a great story.

This is my first time leaving a comment, but I have been listening to the show for close to a year. I’ve enjoyed a few, but most of the time you two sound like a couple of out-of-work, never were funny to begin with, losers that own a microphone…a shitty microphone at that! Just kidding, I actually love the show and laugh my ass off at something in each episode, but I thought that if I was to lay into the two of you for my first post I might get a mention during an upcoming episode. Come on, “I’d like to welcome to the message boards a real dickhead from Ohio, PokerGuy!” Funniest story yet, “Brian running back to his car when it was freezing cold, only to have a chick on a cellphone say, “Hold on, some old, scary guy is running this way!” I don’t know which is worse, being called out by a young hot chick as old or beinf referred to as scary by the same hot chick. Sucks to be you, Brian. Keep up the good work. I love the show.

My question is this: yesterday a younger executive at a big company called me up with an IT issue. I could tell by his speech that he had no idea what to do to solve the problem and was way over his head. I asked him if he wanted to pay for an evaluation and he said that he didn’t know if he had enough money for me and proceeded to tell me his budget was 10,001.00. Which of course is one dollar more than what two weeks of consulting time costs. I knew I could get him to cough up the 10k, but I decided that the all he probably needed was a server configuration change and to wait out the reboot. So I gave up the 10k for my business and gave him the advice for free. Does that make me the smartest or the dumbest consultant?

Patch in Drag – that’s funny Whit. Maybe we can all do the fyregirl tour after O’sheas on the 21st.

Fyregirl – welcome back – glad to see that like the rest of us you were bored with the soccer talk not bored with the board. What’s your take on the trim, shave, grow topic?

Pokerguy – welcome aboard man – we need as many degenerates as we can get around here – no way BMo and Dutch can carry this load on their own.

Tony – great job getting the show up early this morning (at least early for Chicago) for the first time I was able to download it before I left the house and listen on my way to work. Not only did it make the ride more enjoyable – I didn’t have to blow off an hour at the office to listen.

patch – I’ve been watching the coverage – tragic. We have an office in Minneapolis – but no one was anywhere near the bridge. I hope everyone you know is safe.

For any pro football gamblers out there I have a few NFLX teasers to throw out. I am not a handicapper but teasers that run through the 3 or 7 point numbers have been historical winners.

Candidates for the first week of preseason are:

    N.O. +9
    Cinci +8
    Denver +8 1/2
    Phil. +9

My play is to bet them round robin for 6 total bets, only at -110 or better (don’t know if this is available at even money anymore).

Would love to here opinions from any football gamblers or handicappers on the forum.

Great show; I was laughing so hard when BMo was talking about his battery shopping experience at AutoZone. I had almost the same thing happen to me (minus the pants ripping) at AutoZone except I had to deal with 50 year old woman behind the counter. I was trying to hide my ignorance, but she wasn’t buying my bullshit. I could tell she was enjoying herself watching me flounder.

Tommy, after today’s show we should change the initials of the show from TAI to TMI (too much information). You get your balls busted an awful lot on the boards, but I just had to comment. On a serious note: great list of the under/overrated players.

I’ll be in Vegas next week and hope to meet up with you guys (and anybody else that’s going to be in town). I’ll drop an email later and try and arrange something.

TrainFanJohn: shave all day. There is nothing sexier than a man with a beautiful body uncovered by all to enjoy. I understand that isn’t the norm of men’s thinking but it is mine.

    Tommy,

i have been attracted to your confidence since i met you and have listened ever since. however,i do have to say that i think your being immature lately. your passion for Bridgette has always been there but now you seem in to Fyregirl. i think the truth needs to come out. i think you guys are sleeping together. you can fool a bunch of guys but the women listening know what’s going on. i don’t gamble but i’d bet on it.
    what do you boys think?
