What I Replaced TAI With, More or Less

I think the show left a bigger void in our lives than many of us will admit. I mean, *I* don't mind admitting it...I have no shame or pride. But the very act of looking for a show to replace this one demonstrates that it will indeed be missed. I've stopped trying. I have audiobooks and music mp3s to fall back on. I cut back drastically the number of podcasts that I have been listening to. All the Kevin Smith and Adam Carolla shows are out, my daily illegal Opie and Anthony torrent is no longer needed, and I never cared enough about Stern to seek it out. Patrick Melton is going to make NLO pay-only, so there won't be a need to download those, and Phil Hendrie's show is a shell of what it once was. Don't ask me how a 62-year-old man suddenly embraces gangsta rap and deathcore bumper music. Looking at my podcasts, here's what I subscribe to now. Very few are weekly. Some are monthly twice-monthly, or very infrequent. This is a fairly complete list, no Vegas here at all.

I'm a Win 8 user/prisoner now, so I use Ziepod to get my shows. I had been using gPodder, but it crashed on a daily basis in Win 8 and I couldn't work around it. Ziepod lets me know when new podcasts are available and I can choose which ones I download. Simple and free.

I try to keep the mystery alive from day to day. My secret: I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing.
