Alright Kids, It’s Time For The Slideshow (AAC)

Here’s a little throwback to those boring film strips you were forced to watch in school, the only difference is those didn’t feature empty beer bottles, strippers, and grown men on the verge of vomiting. It’s the first interactive edition of TAI, follow along online with the narration, it’s like being there (without the hangover)!

Other topics include, Tommy Dutch on the next “To Catch A Predator”, the worst parenting advice ever, the brand new spam of the week feature, and the best way to kill yourself. Damn, Jesus is getting fucked up!

    How’s this for cute?

After Tuesday, i will have 179 more days to work.

Actually I love my job and amped to get back into the EdTech world.

But, living in the piece of US America that I do is hard to beat when Summer rolls around. The boat is hitched and waited for an assault on the walleyes swimming 2 miles from my house. Boat, surf, fish, ride horses!

    Great show! Truly multimedia.

  2. Mungus the Wonder Horse says:

Great show as always, but what the hell is wiffle ball?

Thanks for posting the link to the UTube video JR!

I have to ask the question… Which polls show that 20% of Americans can’t find the U.S. on a map? The American Blind Association? Fuck me, it says America right across the damn thing!

  3. YoTime Joe says:

Hey Mungus it’s form the 40% that can’t read. 50% of them got lucky.

  4. AceRockollaUK says:

Mungus check out Opie and Anthony and look up the Wiffle Bat Challenge that should help…..
    A lot!

  5. AceRockollaUK says:

Just listening to Show 68 – where Pants tells us he thinks that washed up has been Letterman is funny. Two words Jonathan Ross – a brit who took the show concept from letterman and does it so much better.

Is the pick em full??? it wont let me join

  7. pmac says:

    Jimmy Mac

    Ignore that… im semi-retarded

  8. YoTime Joe says:

slashdogx – great post #21. like everyone else i think you covered everything nicely.

Tommy – Top 5 for this week is a little harder than i 1st thought when i heard what it was. i think this list is harder than a movie list. ok so in no order :

    Stephen King
    Robert De Niro
    Richard Branson
    Ruben Carter
    Agelina Jolie

Now if fyregirl gets a Wiffle Ball team of 5 together that list could change.

  9. brian says:

I respect your take on Letterman, Ace, and I definitely understand that he’s not everyone’s cup of tea. Just to warn you, however, you are damaging your comedy credibility by professing how funny Carrtop and O & A are. You want to talk about stealing someone’s act? O & A should be sending Stern royalty checks every month.

  10. Top 5 Alive for Dinner:

    Steve Wynn
    Tiger Woods
    David Chase
    Steve Jobs
    Warren Buffett

Yo Time – Great invite on Branson.

  11. YoTime Joe says:

Trainfan – cheers man. not sure if you know our dilemma with work blocking sites but your site seems to come under that list now. i got to check out the photos a couple of days ago (good job on em)but they have now blocked it so unable to follow on with the cast.

  12. AceRockollaUK says:

Bmo – My feelings about Letterman and Stern are the same – Both awesome when at thier peak and now both on a downward slide.
I still try and watch Letterman occasionally but it has not moved on and is just tired.
O&A and will defend – I got into American Radio because of Stern and I think he used to really be the King of all Media – I also considered O&A to be a poor rip off the first few times I listened – But really listen to Stern today nothing going on laughing hyena still going strong and trying her crappy bits – Artie who I love (but he was supposed to be leaving – did he?) Artie is the highlight but really Artie Verses Little Jimmy Norton is a no brainer Norton is by far the funnier. O & A are a much sharper act and I think perform smarter comedy – It took me longer to get into them than Stern – but now although I can still get Sterns shows I have not listened for months. I listen to O&A daily – Also dropped Adam Carolla since that twat Bonnadouchbag took over from the sports meastro Dave Dameshek and made that show just another crappy breakfast show.
My favourite American show is Ron and Fez I’m not sure what that says about me “-)

  13. Good and bad news for Vegas locals this weekend.

    The good news: Free transportation
The bad news: It’s on the monorail

On Saturday, September 1, free Monorail rides are available for all locals all day when you present a valid I.D. Free live entertainment for tourists and locals alike will run from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

PS. Tony great job on inserting the pictures, added a lot to the show!

  14. AceRockollaUK says:

    Five for Dinner:

    Fez Marie Whatley
    Jimmy Norton
    Randy ‘The Natural’ Courtre
    Jimmy Kimmell
    Kirk Kirkorian

  15. YoTime Joe says:

Trainfan – sounds good for the meet up in nov. not sure if JR has mentioned but he’s a huge bears fan. we were actually looking into flying from vegas to chicago for 1 day to watch the bears vs broncos game but not sure if we can do it do to the scheduling not set in concrete.

  16. Joe – please email me what you think are the details of your trip – and I’ll see what I can do about getting to Vegas – as for the Bears – if you want to come to Chicago, be sure to let me know and I’ll help find you some tickets – but you may have just as much fun sitting in caesars and watching on the big screen – I like NFL much, much better on TV than I do going in person.

  17. asterion says:

I love Letterman. He’s not as wacky as he used to be (I’m too young to remember him on NBC, but I’ve seen clips on Youtube) but he can still come up with crazy stuff. The sending the coffee or Jamba Juice down Broadway with pressure from a N2 tank was great as was how many Spider-Men would fit in a Jamba Juice. One of my favorites was one night in the middle of summer years ago when there was nothing–no news, no guests, nothing. They took a camera into the other parts of the theater looking for rats. And that’s all they did that night.

  18. YoTime Joe says:

Trainfan – just sent you the info for the trip. Thanks for the offer on the tickets.

  19. mofobes says:

Ace, I don’t think Stern has lost his edge at all. I think it has been amazing since the move to Sirius. Their are lots of times when i am LMAO. it may not be as ‘cutting edge’ as his earlier years, but that is because society has changed so much and it damned near impossible to shock anyone today. to me the funniest stuff is the group dynamic things and fights among the staff – and that is as good at it has ever been.

  20. AceRockollaUK says:

fobes I have 7 or more years of Stern stuff on my computer including a lot of the recent Sirius stuff – plus most of the books official and unofficial – believe me I am a fan. It’s just that I feel O&A are out Sterning him.
And the wrap up shows are horrible.
I will keep listening but with O&A and Ron & Fez and of course TAI (and other Vegas podcasts) I am getting short on time for Stern.

  21. KGB says:

Tony – nice job on the enhanced podcast/AAC

Slashdog – nice post. I’m still around but have slipped more into lurker mode. I got a bit of the cold shoulder from Brian/Tommy on my last two trips to Vegas and business plan idea for them, so I’m guessing I’m not the target demographic the way the show has evolved. No worries though – I still listen and laugh three times a week.

Patch – you runnin’ the marathon in Vegas again this fall?

  22. KGB says:

None of my 5 top cities were even a choice:

    Salt Lake

  23. AceRockollaUK says:

I want to Drop Kimmel and exchange him for David Alan Grier

  24. brian says:

I’m sorry you feel that way KGB. Certainly not our intention. I also want to pass along a HUGE thank you to your students who did the podcasting project. There was some amazing information there that will help us when negotiating with potential sponsors.

  25. Picks for Thursday Night College Football:

    Iowa State -3.5
    Missippi State +20
    Oregon State -6

    Season Record: 0-0-0

  26. brian says:

College ball kicks off tonight, and I’ll be busy broadcasting the Louisville/Murray St. throwdown! sigh. This number is off the board in just about every book in town, probably because they ran out of whole numbers in which to favor the Cardinals, so I will handicap it this way…There is a better chance of a guy named Murray applying for and receiving independant statehood than Murray St. winning this game.

  27. AceRockollaUK says:

Just listening to Show 72 Bmo gets his ass probed – Brian I know you will be pleased to hear that show 72 is a solid 9 unlike your stool sample

  28. AceRockollaUK says:

I mean really when is poop not funny?

  29. dutch says:

cold shoulder? are you serious man?

we were thinking we weren’t right for you because of our nature. Anyway no hard feelings and would love the opportunity to chat casually and professionally on your next trip.

i for one, would love to see you post more frequently again. you were one of the best from the beginning.

  30. mofobes says:

This certainly ain’t Iowa from the South Valley News Business section today – (i couldn’t find a link online, so i am transcribing)

DEVELOPER PROPOSING TWIST ON MOURNING – Mausoleum project would include gambling, tavern

“A tavern, gaming machines and mausoleum all under on roof is the hope of a valley developer in the West Valley. The developer’s goal is to give people a more festive funeral option. ‘This is Las Vegas. We think it is just a perfect place.’…It would be at the intersection of Durango Dr. & Arby Avenue. THe mausoleum would be on the first floor; the tavern on the second….BOthe embalmed bodies and cremated remains would be stored at the business….The proposed building on 10 acres would be 45,000 square feet with two 200-foot driveways. The tavern would be 7,278 square feet, and the building would also have 1,000 square feet of retail space and 141 square feet of office space. There would be no more than 15 gaming machines at the facility. Garcia said it would be open 24 hours a day because ‘Las Vegas is a 24-hour city.'”

this has got to be one of the weirdest f’ing things i’ve heard about since moving here.

  31. Straight Outta Fennville says:

    Jimmy Buffett

  32. Hawkeye Brad says:

Iowa State falls to Kent State! College football couldn’t have started off more perfectly. The next best thing to a Hawkeye win is a Cyclone loss. (Sorry Slash, CB, SWP, and Sammy). I’m leaving for Soldier Field tomorrow. Can’t wait for Iowa/N Illinois.

  33. English Bob says:

I like the top 5 dinner lists. We actually used to have a show in the UK based on this premise and I think I’ve seen Jon Faveraux (sp?) in something similar in the US.

I also tried to pitch a show where rather than dinner it was a pub crawl with 4 or 5 legendary drinker, but sadly no one was interested.

But enough of that, I have a couple of question for all those who’s posted a list:

Where would you go to eat?
And would you split the bill or pick it up yourself?

  34. Something for the sports show perhaps:

Here’s an insider tip for anyone visiting the city of brotherly love, Philadelphia. DO NOT WEAR AN OPPOSING TEAMS JERSEY IN OUR STADIUMS.

That video shows the fight that took place in the 9th inning of the Phils v Mets game. The fight happened when a Philly fan started blocking the view of a person in a Mets shirt. Mets fan talked trash, Philly fan pushed someone, all hell broke loose afterwards.

Amazingly enough, the fighters started fighting back against the security guards and cops. Many arrests were made that night.

  35. pmac says:

Sounds like English football – they actually segregate the opposing fans over here to avoid the inevitable riots.

And then there are the ‘fans’ who dont even go to the games but just get pissed up and meet the other team’s ‘fans’ at a predesignated spot for a rumble….

I may be wrong though – it has happened before i think, maybe back in ’97.

  36. Kempferrulesmoellersucks says:

  37. English Bob says:

The bad old days of English football, sad but true.

The whole culture of football violence (read soccer for those in the US) was often referred to as the “English Disease”. Something that fortunately is a lot less prevelent in the UK now. However, there are still incidents but it no where near the stage it was 20 years ago.

Alas, as is often the case with English sports, it may have been invented here, but there are so many places that now do it a whole lot better. Only last year Serie A (The top Italian league) suspended play for a few games after a police officer was killed by a home made explosive during an after game riot. The last World Cup also saw outbreaks of violence, notably between the Polish and German fans, after all there’s plenty of history there. Those are just the tip of the iceberg with football violence across Europe and that’s before you look at the regular incidents in the South American games.

Sadly it’s not just football that this applies to these days. The combination of violence and sport all too often go hand in hand. As to what causes it, maybe it’s a tribal thing, maybe it’s just that there’s no excitement in peoples life these days, maybe it’s just the natural breakdown of society.

Not wishing to end on a downer, there may however be hope for us all yet. During the World Cup in Korea and Japan, not only is football violence almost unheard of, the South Korean fans would stay behind after a game to help clear up the mess. Something they did again when playing in the last world cup in Germany.

  38. Whit says:

Ah crap, its my last night in vegas. Anyone got any tips as to what to do on the last night?
