The TAI voicemail competition has really begun to heat up with 4 strong contenders for the prize ranging from congrats, funny true stories, and prepared bits. So far it’s only our long time listeners that have contributed. Will a new comer step up or is it a TAI legend that will take the crown? This is sure to be more exciting than week 1 of the NFL. Or at least the Raiders/Lions game.

for future reference be careful if on games where Cal is favored by a few scores. The defensive coordinator has said that if he feels they are in control of the game, he will put in the back-ups on defense which could lead to a cheap score like it did this time. (i read this after the game)
i wanted to offer a strong recommendation on the new Planet Hollywood. I really like all the changes they have made. They have a couple of good bars including the Heart Bar in the center which is where JazzyJay & I encountered the “financial advisor” – seems to be a hub for these “advisors.”
They have a nice poker room with a great staff, good $70 tourney 3 times a day, & will spread any game you like (even to a bunch of drunks like Patch, Yzerman, & me.
i was there yesterday and checked out their new sports book. VERY NICE! it is smaller with about 60 leather chairs, 8 TVs for the horses and about 16 for sports with two giant screen at eye level. there is also a bar/lounge right behind with more TVs and a good atmosphere. They set their own lines, so you might be able to find something good there. Also, they had no problem giving me 2 drink coupons for 2 $20 bets.
Close to the new sports book is a new black jack pit that at about 7pm is staffed with smoke’n hot dealers in fishnets & bustiers a la the Pussycat Dolls Casino at Caesars except that PH offers $10 tables, full 3/2 pay out & Surrender which is a big advantage. they have good music and Go-Go dances as well.
they are adding some new night clubs run by the Opium group out of Miami and JayZ just announced that he will also open a club called 40/40.
if you haven’t been there since the change, i suggest you stop by.
I’m just happy the Broncos won in that rather crazy finish. And man, what is with this Bears game?
When it comes to pizza, what’s the stuff I get out here? It’s not a deep-dish and it’s not a thin crust. It’s just a medium crust, like you’d get at a chain. (Of course, Dion’s and the local pizza place are much better than national chains.)

Agree with you on Planet Hollywood, spent a couple hours there and had a great time. And the “advisors” outnumbered the customers.
Will have to check out the blackjack and sportsbook next trip. Sounds almost too good to be true.
On my last trip I saw a 6 deck game with a 6-5 payoff on blackjacks at Harrahs. A new low.
